click here to return to home page Dr Kathryn Geldard and David Geldard have produced 4 DVDs to illustrate the skills described in the book Basic Personal Counselling. These DVDs were previously available on videotape and may still be purchased on videotape if preferred. The DVDs demonstrate basic counselling skills Each DVD shows either Kathryn Geldard or David Geldard demonstrating counselling skills in an actual counselling situation. Sub-titles identify skills used, and pause points in the DVDs give students time to suggest and/or discuss possible counsellor responses. The DVDs provide an excellent teaching tool particularly when used in conjunction with the book Basic Personal Counselling. The DVDs are based on 2 lengthy counselling interviews. In one of these David is the client and discusses a real problem of his while Kathryn is the counsellor. In the other Kathryn is the client and describes a real problem of hers while David is the counsellor. Each tape shows a section of each interview selected to demonstrate particular skills.
